Specializing in vintage pin-up and rockabilly style clothing, Very Cherry is a Dutch online boutique that offers several unique, yet classic fashions.
The designs available remain true to the classic era of fashion while incorporating modern brands and materials into the patterns. Very Cherry has offered its designer clothing for several years worldwide from its Rotterdam location.
Overall, the site is very easy to use. Every brand the online store carries is located on the left hand side in an organized column. While the site may be difficult to read in English, Very Cherry offers many recognizable labels that have the same names in Dutch and English. Pinup Couture, Heartbreaker, Fever London, Stop Staring and other high-end brands are displayed when “Zoek op merk” is clicked. The site can also be organized by type of clothing, such as tops, dresses, and accessories by clicking “Zoek op categorie.” Images are also clear and accurate, making it easier to shop.
Very Cherry also offers its own line of pin-up style clothing for women, Very Cherry Clothing. The label copies many of the classic designs while adding unique flair. Because the prices of vintage style clothing can be high, Very Cherry Clothing offers their designs at a slightly lower cost, enabling women to get a great look for less money. Most of the Very Cherry Clothing designs are available for about 100 Euros or less. Styles are true to retro fashion and expand on simple ideas, such as the classic rockabilly polka dot dress.
The online boutique also has several bags, shoes, accessories, and children’s clothing to choose from. This makes coordinating the outfit easy, making Very Cherry a one-stop place to shop for pin-up styles. Many of the children’s styles available are similar to the adult styles available, giving children the opportunity to have a sophisticated look or coordinate with their parents.
The site is very easy to order from in English. Very Cherry accepts Paypal and many major credit cards. Shipping from overseas is also fairly priced based on the amount purchased. Tutorials on how to make purchases in English are also available on the website and provide more detailed instructions.

Zombie Dolls is a London-based Etsy boutique specializing in custom tops and dresses and sexy steel boned corsets. Her classic styles bring a pin up and retro feel to modern clothing pieces, mixing modern femininity and styles to the styles from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s.
Whether you’re looking for full blown corsetry for burlesque or lingerie styles or you’re just looking to add some retro flair to your wardrobe, each piece is handmade using classic styling, with a little individuality and modern mix added in.
Each corset is made with multiple layers of fabric for optimum strength, with extra strong thread and a cotton drill lining. She uses duchess satin, the highest quality available for the level of strength needed in a corset. However, it’s not the high quality and strength that has customers coming back for more, it’s the immaculate attention to detail and fierce styles are what she is so popularly known for throughout the retro industry.
Aside from corsets, the handmade dresses are also a popular item in Zombie Dolls shop. Each dress is custom made according to your measurements and created with a retro feel. The flowing skirts and fitted halter top gives the innocent yet stylish and sexy look of a dress worn by Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, or even Dita Von Teese. If you love the styles worn by these women, you will adore the selection Zombie Dolls offers. Cherry prints, black and white contrast styles, skulls, roses and tattoo prints are all available.
To finish off your look, add in one of their fun hair accessories. Rose flower pins and clips, some even with lace frills and skeleton hand embellishments, are available to accent your corset or dress. The elegant styles can be worn as evening wear for a fancy addition to your hairdo, or as a sultry gothic accent to a corset or burlesque costume. Curl up some sexy pin up girl curls and add in a clip for the perfect addition.

With both ready-made and custom items available, this shop features alternative brands like Glamour Bunny, Pin up Couture, Valkyrie and Velda Lauder plus off-the-rack lingerie and Nina Young’s own handmade brand Bite Me! Couture. Providing burlesque outfits at reasonable prices with a small but knowledgeable staff, they provide hassle-free, one-stopping shopping for all your glamour-puss needs.
Nina, who was originally an avid a member of the London gothic scene, began sewing her doll’s clothes from leftover fabric scraps at the age of eight. She continued to develop her skills and later successfully sold her own custom, handmade, original design bone-top and lace corsets to her high school chums for party money. After finishing her education, she spent time as a seamstress for Homberg’s Theatrical Costumiers in Leeds, England but was earning her bread and butter in IT. Fortunately, she was seduced by the burlesque world after watching a Miss Beeby performance in an Amsterdam supper club. Inspired, she returned to her beloved sewing machine, began designing her own burlesque costumes and set up the Love Burlesque boutique. An enterprising spirit, she now not only hand sews her Bite Me! Couture items, she also shares her skills with others, offering classes from her home base in the Netherlands on basic sewing, sewing from commercial patterns and on the art of creating original and custom patterns.
Love Burlesque’s online shop has a broad spectrum of handmade and specially selected items available: pasties, tassels, over-bust and under-bust corsets, waist-cinchers, frilly knickers, and bordello shoes plus dresses, skirts, tops, shrugs and jackets, fascinators, wigs and more. Very affordable, their most expensive custom items cap at £250, while ready-made products range from £20 to £60. Based in Worthing, UK and the Netherlands, Love Burlesque accepts only PayPal, delivers worldwide. They ship in-stock items within one day and custom items within 7 to 14 days; shipping costs vary with weight and delivery location. With a customer friendly money-back guarantee, un-worn items (excluding custom orders and undergarments) may be returned within seven days of receipt for full refund or exchange. Follow their newsletter, or Facebook-friend them for up-to-the-minute deals!
Collectif is considered one of the hottest brands in UK pin up, rockabilly, and psychobilly fashions. Collectif’s pieces are generally very versatile; many of their pieces could be worn both as a traditional 40′s-50′s style or turned into a harder punk-themed look.
The brand is becoming increasingly popular worldwide and their clothing is sold by several major alternative retailers, including Pinup Girl Clothing. Collectif’s website features high-fashion photography and an adorable, easy-to-navigate layout. The brand’s models all have a definite edge; you’ll see pink-haired girls posing on sinks and tattooed beauties perched on motorcycles. However, Collectif Clothing excels at making each piece distinctly feminine without looking frail or delicate. Even their girly flared dresses feature bold patterns and eye-catching design. No matter if you’re a psychobilly, rockabilly, or a modern-day pinup, Collectif is not for the faint of heart.
The brand definitely designs for curvy women. Sizes start at a UK 8 (a US 6 and an EU 36)–no skinny fashion models here. However, Collectif is unafraid to design for larger women; available sizes go up to size 22 (a US 20 and an EU 52). The company’s fitted dresses are undeniably sexy and designed to highlight any figure’s curves. The website allows customers to browse dresses by print and available options include dogstooth, cherry, and polka dot. Not a dress fan? The site offers a variety of separates such as cardigans, pencil skirts, and a wealth of tops. The company also sells knitwear and outerwear. The accessories collection contains a few select items in each category, some of which include handbags, belts, petticoats, and buckles. Eclectic shoppers should definitely check out the Hair Candy collection where girls can purchase everything from meat cleavers to giant feathered birds for their hair. Additionally, the Sale section features a wide variety of discounted items.
Collectif fans can use the site’s Wish List feature as a helpful gift-giving hint for family members or significant others. Customers can also sign up for the emailed newsletter or visit Collectif’s MySpace page that sometimes features exclusive offers or promotions. UK residents can also visit one of Collectif’s two stores, one in Covent Garden and one in Camden. The company also offers wholesale sales on orders over two hundred dollars.
Dismantled Fashions is a one-woman brand and company operating out of Central Virginia in the United States. Emily, the founder, designer, fabricator, webmaster and promoter of Dismantled Fashions founded it in 2004 and specializes in designing and sewing clothing with classic 1940s and 1950s styles with an added twist of modern rockabilly and psychobilly trash.
Vintage with a hard edge, Dismantled Fashions sells dresses, skirts and bolero shrugs in a few classic pin up and rockabilly styles with a strong emphasis on customization. Polka dots, tattoos flashes, cherries, skulls, skeletons and stretched twill are just a few of the fabric options that can be mixed and matched with lace, buttons and other notions on any dress, skirt or shrug design available at Dismantled Fashions.
To make each piece a success, Emily asks that her adored customers measure themselves carefully using the comprehensive sizing chart on her website so that every curve can be perfectly enhanced by their custom purchase.
Emily learned to sew from her mother and from her own resourcefulness; her business, marketing and design skills were acquired from a couple of semesters in community college. Not one to stay in school or hold down a corporate job, Emily’s DIY attitude is as punk rock as her zombie momma, cheap-whiskey-drinking lifestyle and the sassy, curvy clothes she designs.
An enterprising Aries, Emily became interested in rockabilly clothing originally because, as she put it,” It’s damn flattering on us big girls!”, and started selling her handmade designs on Ebay after listing a pencil skirt she had sewn for herself that came out too small. It sold, she was inspired and continued to make and sell clothing on Ebay until she was able to create her own online shop in 2004. Now she not only sells directly from her website, but also has an etsy shop, a facebook fan page and sells clothes in selected retail stores.
Exceptionally reasonable, Dismantled Fashions’ hand-sewn custom dresses are only $55.00 at their highest price, whereas custom skirts are about $40.00 and shrugs run from $15.00 to $25.00. She ships everywhere via USPS, with free shipping on orders over $100. Because of the personalization of each item, returns are not accepted and exchanges are limited.
Miss Hussy Clothing
Miss Hussy Clothing was established and created by Hayley Stoneham in Adelaide, Australia, where she studied fashion and business management. Her largest fan was her grandmother, who worked as a tailor in a department store in the 1940′s. Her mother is her main source of inspiration, with whom she shares a passion for everything vintage and retro.
Hayley began selling the Miss Hussy Clothing line on Ebay, and after a great deal of success, began selling the label on a Myspace fan page she created for the clothing line as a store front. She moved to Melbourne, Australia, and began producing her clothing designs in large quantities so she could begin marketing Miss Hussy as a professional label. She began selling her pieces in Las Vegas, Nevada and even lived there for some time, but the true roots of the brand remain in her home country of Australia. To this day, the clothing pieces are still manufactured in Australia.
Hayley’s love for vintage style and clothing of the 1950′s came about due in part to the fact that the clothing from that era embraced curves and women of various sizes, and since she claims to have never been entirely thin, felt more comfortable in these styles. She creates pieces that look as if they came directly out of a clothing catalog from the pinup and retro era’s, and enjoys creating colorful dresses, swinging skirts, pencil skirts, stylish and form fitting tops, and plenty of retro embellishments. She also garnered inspiration from her mother’s closet, using the ideas and pieces to create a similar style that is fresh, young and lively. Old Hollywood films are another popular piece of inspiration for Miss Hussy Clothing.
Hayley continues to draw inspiration from retro era’s to create pieces that are beautiful, high quality and embellished with retro and vintage looking patterns and buttons. Whether it be polka dots, leopard print, floral prints or the classic pinup sailor look, quality clothing is the main priority of Hayley as she creates Miss Hussy Clothing. She continues to develop more pieces for online shops, and offers them at affordable Australian prices that range from 65 to 130 dollars.
